June Playlist

Here is my playlist for June:

Two Doors Down (Duke Dumont Remix) - Mystery Jets

Great track from the Erol Alkan produced album 'Twenty One' is given the treatment by London based producer/DJ Duke Dumont who is continuing to work his magic across Europe, playing at venues such as Fabric, Space (Ibiza) and famed Berlin techno palace 'Panorama Bar' (which I went to last year for an amazing evening).

Joystick - Discodeine

I know very little about these two French dudes but it seems to me that the French scene is more diverse than it is given credit for in the wider world. This track infuses electro with a sped up Balearic sound and works brilliantly.

Down and Out - Moulinex

Recently in the country playing killer sets with Discotexas labelmate Xinobi, Moulinex is probably most famous in Australia for the remix of Cut Copy's Lights and Music. This original production continues in the vein heard on that remix. Distorted bass and synths aplenty, this one is epic.

Lollipop (Yuksek Extended Remix) - Mika

Not usually a fan of Mika's solo work but Yuksek continues to produce the goods here.

The Long Way Home (Prins Thomas Edit) - Lindstrom

Aeroplane - Aeroplane

Easily my favourite song at the moment, although I'm well late on finding this one. Lindstrom and Prins Thomas opened their Essential Mix with it last year and opened my eyes. Everything these guys touch turns to gold. Proving that you don't have to be from Norway to produce cosmic/nu disco, these Belgian lads have remixed the likes of Das Pop, Cobra Dukes and Low Motion Disco but for me, the originals such as Aeroplane and Caramellas take the cake.

I Feel Music In Your Heart (Lifelike & Kris Menace Remix) - Kris Menace

Lifelike is a god. No more needs to be said.

Bushido - The Others

Walcott (Insane Mix #2) - Vampire Weekend

Dimmakmmunication - The Bloody Beetroots

I Feel Something New - The Black Ghosts vs Lindstrom

I don't know who did this mash up but it works so well. Looking forward to the new Black Ghosts LP coming out soon. Oh, and Lindstrom releases his debut solo LP in August.

Focker - Late Of The Pier

Another Erol Alkan produced classic.
